rites of belonging

June 15-17, 2012
Los Angeles

whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world calls out to you announcing your place in the family of things.

rites of belonging  is a calling: a silent wakening. its cries and whispers stir a deep longing in our soul to fall into the place we call home. each of us carries a unique offering, a way of being in the world that only you can fulfill.

through movement and ritual we will explore the meaning of how and where we belong in ourselves and in our lives and the places we feel exiled from ourselves and others. how we can through our bodies rest and listen to the silence in those places. to trust and surrender as gravity repeatedly tells us “I have a place for you, and it is called here”. we will actively step into the participation required to belong.

In this workshop using the awakening energy of dancing through the 5 rhythms and soul motion we will move with the grace of our belonging and the struggles of our exclusion.
